Preparing for Summer Camp

Now, that you are registered for camp, please take a few minutes to review the camp confirmation packets below for Day Camp, Overnight Camp, and Mini, Overnight, and amily/Troop Events. These packets will answer the majority of your questions. We have also added quick links to the required paperwork for camp.

Please complete the necessary paperwork for your girl's camp session(s). All paperwork must be brought to camp on your girl's first day of camp session. If you have questions, please contact Customer Care at 888-623-1237. Please do not send or drop off camp paperwork to our service centers.

Day Camp Information Packet

Overnight Camp Information Packet

Code of Conduct
Behavior agreement that campers and parents sign, agreeing to abide by all camp and council rules. Used as the first reminder if behavior problems arise.

COVID-19 Self Check form
In an effort to minimize illness at camp, we ask that you check on the health of your camper daily beginning 14 days prior to camp. The best camp sessions start with healthy campers and this begins at home. Please bring this completed form to camp at check-in. Please indicate if your camper has any of the symptoms listed prior to camp and record a temperature daily. If any temperature or symptoms are present, please have your camper evaluated by a licensed provider and contact camp for further guidance.

Camper Pick-Up
Grants permission for your camper to be picked up from camp. Parents must list themselves on the form in addition to any other adult who may pick up the camper.

Parent Questionnaire
Enables staff to become familiar with campers and with parent expectations. Please provide us with information on your camper’s mental, emotions, and physical needs. We want to make camp a positive experience, so we need to know what makes her unique.

Letter to the Counselor (Optional for Day Camp, Mini-Overnight Camp, and Family/Troop Events)
A lot of our campers want a chance to share more about themselves and what they hope to do over the summer in their own words. The letter to the counselor is a chance for a girl to share her traits and characteristics about her.

Waivers
Horseback riders must have a Girl Scouts of Central Illinois Equestrian Consent and Release Form on file in order to participate in equine activities and is recommended for all campers atteding Camp Tapawingo. Those not registered for an equestrian session may still get a chance to visit the barn, in which case a waiver is necessary. Those registered for an equestrian session MUST have a completed and signed waiver.

Challenge Course Waivers must have signed waivers on file in order to participate in activities including the challenge course, climbing wall, and zip line. The Challenge Course Waiver is to be completed by all campers at Camp Tapawingo, and Camp Widjiwagan as these camps have a challenge course/rock wall available. Review the camp description to see if your daughter will be participating in the challenge course. Not all campers will be taking part depending on age and skill and conservations during girl planning.

Health Record
A Health Record is required for all campers. For Day Camp, Mini, and Overnight Camp, and Family/Troop events, parents may complete the form.  For overnight camp (3 nights or more) this form must be signed by a physician within the past 24 months OR you must submit a copy of a physical completed within the past 24 months of the last day of the camp session she will be attending. Health forms from previous years of camp are not available, as they are permanently stored upon closure of the camp season. Be sure to keep a copy of the health form for your records. Girls will not be allowed to attend overnight camp without a current health form.
