Member Services Representative—Retail (Knoxville)

Do you provide extraordinary customer service via phone, in-person, and email? Are you eager to assist with customers on the phone and in-person? Are you organized and detail oriented? Would you enjoy being part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to girls and young women? If yes, the Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians is looking for you. We are seeking a full-time Member Services Representative for our headquarters retail shop in Knoxville, Tennessee. We offer regular hours, benefits, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Under guidance of the Retail Manager, the Member Services Representative—Retail is the first point of customer contact for inquiries via phone, email or in person, including retail shops. Responsible for providing the highest level of customer service to all current and prospective members, both external and internal, by utilizing all systems, policies, and procedures established by the Council. 

Hours are approximately 8:30 am -5:15 pm Monday through Friday with a Saturday once a month.

Chief Development Officer (Knoxville)

Are you passionate about our region’s next generation of leaders? Then the Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians (GSCSA) is seeking a talent like you for its Chief Development Officer position.

Under guidance of the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Development Officer is the senior-level position responsible for coordinating the Council’s philanthropy function in keeping with GSCSA’s mission. Implements successful strategies for increasing philanthropy from major gifts, corporate, and individual donations as well as from multiple United Ways, signature events, and grants. Supervises other members of the Philanthropy team to develop and implement robust policies and strategies for generating, receiving, and acknowledging financial and in-kind donations. Clearly and persuasively coordinates the activities associated with presenting the Council’s philanthropic case (in writing or orally) to donors, donor prospects, and to groups interested in or associated with the Girl Scouts. Collaborates with other members of the Philanthropy team to assess and administer resource development information systems and other resource development structures.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field (Significant experience and/or fund development professional certifications may substitute for degree.)
  • At least three years of highly-related experience in philanthropy and associated fund development activities.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Maintenance of organizational membership throughout employment. 
Programs Specialist (Chattanooga)

Do you have a passion for nonprofits and for positively impacting the lives of girls? Are you successful at providing extraordinary customer service and assisting with delivering great programs? Are you organized and detail-oriented? If yes, then the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians is seeking a Programs Specialist like you based out of its Chattanooga leadership center.

Under guidance of the Director of Program Strategy and Development, the Programs Specialist assists with and delivers Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) programming in keeping with GSCSA’s mission and strategy. Assists with indoor and outdoor programs, special events, and girl/adult education opportunities. Serves as administrative support for program registrations, High Awards process Council-wide, American Camping Association accreditations, and summer camp. Assists with some recruitment events.

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

·        High School Diploma (or equivalent)

·        Some experience working with youths preferred but not required at job entry.

·        Some experience with customer relationship management databases (CRM such as Salesforce) preferred by not required at job entry.

·        Maintenance of organizational membership throughout employment.

·        Valid Driver’s License.
