Reserve Camp Property

Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council offers four picturesque camp properties for all your outdoor adventure needs! Our properties are well maintained and easily accessible. Whether you stay for the weekend or just a day, you'll leave with memories that will last a lifetime!

At this time our camp properties are open for reservations (please follow Covid guidelines).

For all non-affiliated Girl Scout groups (outside user groups), please begin the reservation process by completing the interest form provided via the link below.

Soap Carving

Learn how to make a soap carving. Starting with inexpensive soap and using conventional tools is an economical way to find out if you like carving enough to graduate to knives, gouges or wood.

Lashing Land

Learn about lashing, the different types of constructions you can build and put your skills to practice! Allow your imagination to create whatever you want, a chair, a table, a show rack, it is up to you to decide!

Secret Message Scavenger Hunt

Go on a hike while following clues around camp. Learn about Morse Code, how to read a compass, and different landmarks that will help you find the root of the mystery of this scavenger hunt.

Edible Constellations

Learn about the different constellations and how many stars are in each one of them. Build a constellation with marshmallows and then eat it if you want! If the night is clear put your skills to practice and identify which constellations you can see from Maripai!

Giant Jenga

Build a tower and remove the blocks one by one without letting it fall! Be careful because you have to be very precise to win this game. Enjoy Jenga at our camp in this giant version!

Tether Ball

Tetherball is a game for two opposing players. The equipment consists of a stationary metal pole, from which is hung a volleyball from a rope or tether. The two players stand on opposite sides of the pole. Each player tries to hit the ball one way; one clockwise, and one counterclockwise. The game ends when one player manages to wind the ball all the way around the pole so that it is stopped by the rope.

Nine Square

It’s like the game of 4-Square, but with 9 Squares above your head! Simple rules: You get one hit to send the ball out the top of your square, into any other player’s square.

Horseshoes

Story in a box

Did you ever read a book or watch a movie you loved? Someone wrote those stories. Now, you can write your own story. Story Camp will help you figure out what to include and give you some guidelines to make it into a story. Maybe one day, we'll be reading your books or watching a tv show or movie that YOU wrote! No better time to get started than now.

Orienteering

Did you know there is a Orienteering course at Parsons? Come and learn how to use a compass and find the markers around our camp. How many can you identify? Put your skills to the test and have fun!

S’mores in a box PLC

Ready for the official camping experience? We have a s'mores bundle that includes all the necessities for a chocolarific time around the camp fire. If no burn day, alternative heat source will be provided.

Art Box

Let your creativity fly with our Art Box. This includes most materials that will help you create a masterpiece. Feel free to gather items around camp to help with you creations (sticks, rock, leaves, etc).

Cooking at camp is just a little easier with these Pack-Out Boxes. They include pots, pans, and cooking utensils needed for most meal prep. The hotplates/burner must be used by an adult and attended at all times when in use.

Moderate Hike

Need some time offsite. Take a drive to the Mormon Trail Loop. This is a City of Phoenix Trail that is moderate/difficult with beautiful boulders and wildflowers in the spring. Appropriate hiking shoes, water, and map is required. Please read Phoenix Hike.

Scavenger Hunt

Explore Parsons Leadership Center and the nearly 14 acres of land with a scavenger hunt to locate the elusive Charlie the Chuckwalla and many other cool areas, animals, and plants around camp.

Nature Walk

This interpretive walk will meander around camp for possible interactions with desert animals and plants. The easy stroll around property will be primarily on dirty walkways and end at the lookout with a 180 degree view of the Valley.

FAQs
When are camping reservations available?

Reservations for overnights are available 2pm Friday through 2pm Sunday. A family may reserve a cabin unit/building for up to 2 nights. 

Are there any fees for camping?

Yes. Depending upon the type of camping your family reserves.

Are there any program offerings?

Yes, self-guided only. This includes program box rental. Program areas, such as archery, pool, and challenge course are not available at this time.

Can we rent camping equipment?

Yes, some of our properties have equipment such as stoves and propane, tents, hammocks, and outdoor cooking supplies. Please see the chart for the specific camp you are interested in. TCC2 required for camp stoves.

What is Glamping Camping?

We refer to Glamping when the setup has dormitory rooms, bathroom and kitchen inside; much like a family house rental.

What if I have my own gear?

You can bring your tent, tent, stove, coolers. TCC2 required.

Is there electricity in hammocks, tents or yurts?

No, there is no electricity. 

What certifications do I need?

GSUSA recommendd different adults hold certifications (First Aid/CPR is held by one adult and TCC1 by another adult in the group). This is required for troops only.

  • Glamping = First Aid/CPR, TCC1
  • Cabin Camping = First Aid/CPR, TCC1 (TCC2 if cooking your own meals)
  • Tent Camping = First Aid/CPR, TCC1, TCC2 
  • Yurt Camping = First Aid/CPR, TCC1 (TCC2 if cooking your own meals)
  • Hammock Camping = First Aid/CPR, TCC1, TCC2
What happens if I need to leave camp during my stay?

Contact camp staff and let them know when you are leaving and when you are back to camp. 

What options do I have for food? 
  1. Bring your own food (non-cooking) 
  2. Cook your own food (TCC2 is required for outdoor cooking)
  3. Leave camp and get food in the nearby town
Can I bring my pets?

No. However, service animals are welcome. 

Can I bring my own sports equipment?

Yes, feel free to bring soccer ball(s), volleyball (s) etc. Climbing harnesses, ropes, bicycles, archery, canoes/kayaks/paddleboards, PFD are not allowed.

Is cell phone service reliable at camp?

Not all camps have the same wireless range. Only Parsons Leadership Center has consistent wireless and cell phone service.

Can I bring an ATV?

No. 

Can I bring my own trailer or RV?

No. 

Can I bring my troop?

Yes, day use only available. Contact camp team to check availability and make your reservation. 

Can additional visitors come to camp to visit my family?

Not currently. Only same household family members that have reserved.  

COVID Related Info

COVID-19 is an extremely contagious virus that spreads easily through person-to-person contact. As with any social activity, participation in Girl Scouts could present the risk of contracting COVID-19. While GSACPC attempts to take every safety and preventative precaution, GSACPC can in no way warrant that COVID-19 infection will not occur through participation in GSACPC programs.
