Cookies for the Community

How Cookies Help the Community

The Cookies for the Community Program is a cookie donation opportunity. Some customers would rather donate a box of cookies than eat them – and the Cookies for the Community option is the way they can. All donated cookies will be distributed at partner organizations serving people in need. This program helps girls learn about the importance of community service and giving back to the community. Cookies for the Community purchases are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

There are two Cookies for the Community options: The Troop option or the Council option. Troops can promote one or both programs, AND earn troop proceeds and girl rewards at the same time! Either way is fantastic for our Girl Scouts to reach out to the community with cookies.

Girls can sell 30+ packages of Council Cookies for the Community and Troop Cookies for the Community to earn the Gift of Caring patch. Troop leaders will need to enter cookies in eBudde under CCC & TCC.

Council Cookies for the Community Partners

The Council Cookies for the Community Program designates cookies for distribution to our Cookies for the Community Partners: St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, St. Vincent de Paul and USO Arizona.

United Food Bank’s history is deeply-rooted in the East Valley and dates back to July of 1983 when it began operations as United Food Distribution Center, Inc. The Food Bank was started as a nonprofit joint venture among East Valley cities and their respective United Ways  to gather and distribute food to East Valley organizations that were helping feed those in need. The Food Bank has grown to meet the increased need from people in our service area. Our service area of 19,608 square miles includes some of the most remote areas in the state. Places like Sanders, Arizona, where there are only a couple places to purchase food, and the next town is 40 miles away.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the community and ending poverty through systemic change. A new partner to GSACPC Cookies for the Community, all donated cookies will be distributed through their local dining facilities.

Troop Cookies for the Community

The Troop Cookies for the Community option allows troops to collect cookie donations and donate them to an organization of their choice in their community. It is important for troops to set a goal and select a specific organization prior to selling, so girls can effectively communicate this opportunity to customers. Each troop is responsible for delivering Troop Cookies for the Community packages.
