Social Media – channels, groups, guidelines and social media
how-to
Connecting to our GSACPC social network is a great
way to get information and announcements quickly, share and view girl
stories, ask for help, get tips and to connect with other troops and
volunteers. We invite you to connect with us on all the platforms you have!
In addition to our main Council Brand Page accounts, we also manage
four closed Facebook groups to foster specific communities. These
groups are intended for participants to exchange ideas, collaborate,
and talk about Girl Scout events and experiences. These groups are
exclusive to GSACPC members and are verified through Salesforce, our
member data system.

leaders to share meeting ideas, troop stories, and service projects
or to ask for suggestions from other troop leaders.

All GSACPC groups are held to strict guidelines. We ask all members
to follow our social media guidelines when sharing and representing
the organization on social media. Please take a moment to review the
following guidelines and policies:
-
Social
Media How-To – An overview on how to set up an account,
properly reply to comments, how to use hashtags and more.
-

when communicating via social media, the Facebook Group rules, info

Brand Marketing and Publicity Resources
GSACPC has
guidelines in place and resources
available to support an array of requests. Need to make a flyer or
poster? Want to pitch your girl story to the local community paper?
The page is home to all of this and more in
depth information on the following topics:
- Logo Usage – When making a flyer or other branded element that
will be shared with the public, you are required to include the Girl
Scout logo and obtain Council permission to use it.
- Brand
Checklist – This list includes all the brand guidelines and
standards including colors, font, logos and how to use our Council
name or organization name.
- Publicity & Media – GSUSA
handles all national media outreach and GSCPC connects with all
major regional media outlets. If you would like to pitch a local
neighborhood newspaper or radio station, we provide a press kit and
additional tools to help you with this.
- Story Submission –
We’re always looking for girl/troop stories! Share them via our Share
Your Girl Scout
Story form for a possibility to be featured on our social
media accounts, in GS Connections, or even in the media.
- Electioneering Practices – Follow the electioneering guidelines
provided by GSUSA when acting as a Girl Scout representative,
employee, volunteer or Girl Scout in any electoral activities.
- Girl Scout Media Ambassadors – Council Media Ambassadors are a
select group of girl representatives of our Council. They have been
media-trained and take part in all local and council- led media
opportunities. Registration to join opens at the start of each new
member year and lasts for one year.
- Image Safety Guidelines
– Most Girl Scouts have already given permission for Girl Scouts to
take and use their photos to promote Girl Scouting when they
registered as a member or signed up for a council event. However,
those who opted out, should be identified by the event organizer to
ensure their photo is not distributed publicly.
