Troop Camp Certification

The intention of Troop Camp Certification is to provide volunteers with the information necessary to prepare and guide girls in fun and safe outdoor adventures. When completing your Troop Camp Certifications, please plan ahead and allow sufficient time to complete the recommended preparation activities with girls.

Approximate time needed to prepare girls:

  • Level 1 (beginning experiences) 1-2 months
  • Level 2 (intermediate experiences) 3-6 months

(The time needed to complete the recommended preparation steps will vary depending on the experience level of the girls, the planned activities and the frequency of troop meetings.)
 

Troop Camp Certification Level 1

Completion of Troop Camp Certification Level One means adult volunteers may guide girls on approved group outdoor experiences that include:

  • indoor sleeping or cabin camping

NOT COVERED: tent camping, wood-carving with pocket knives, any outdoor cooking, indoor cooking or dining, fire-building, or campfires.
 

Troop Camp Certification Level One:
Troop Camp Certification Level 2

Pre-requisite: Troop Camp Certification Level One. 

Completion of Troop Camp Certification Level Two means adult volunteers may guide girls on approved outdoor experiences including:

  • overnight tent-camping
  • knife safety
  • fire-building and outdoor cooking with approved fuel sources
