Amazing Woman of the Month, Virtual (Gr K-12)

On the first of each month, the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore debut a new program about a different woman who is an icon in her field. You'll receive program plans that are self-guided that you can complete at your own pace at home or during a Girl Scout meeting. You are also invited to attend an optional Zoom meeting where you can learn a little more about the woman and do an activity just for fun! Can't attend? That's okay! You will receive a link to the recorded Zoom session to watch when you can! Girl Scouts from all 50 states and 5 countries participate in this program. All registrants receive a customized patch and program plans. Register for one month, or as many as you want. Some of our past women have been Jane Goodall, Sally Ride, Frida Kahlo, Grace Hopper, and Amelia Earhart. Find inspiration for becoming an amazing woman yourself!

Character Does Matter, Virtual (Gr 2-12)

Our Character Does Matter program can be individualized and flexed to a particular troop's needs and grades. Join us for a virtual program, including guided talks about character strengths like gratitude, kindness, teamwork, and perseverance. We'll have leadership lessons, panels, and Q&A as well. For our younger girls, we'll facilitate story readings to teach about character strengths through read-along videos of children's stories.

Hannaford's Healthy Shopper Patch, Lunenburg (K-12)

Learn all about how food ends up on store shelves and the role Hannaford team members play in helping shoppers make healthy choices. Learn about the importance of eating a variety of foods from all food groups and how to build a healthy meal. Learn how the Hannaford Guiding Stars Program can help shoppers make healthy choices in the store, how to create a healthy snack, and why a healthy lifestyle is important. You can even have the Hannaford registered dietitian help you in making these choices! This free, in-store activity is approximately 45 minutes to an hour in length and ties into so many of the healthy living badge requirements. You will receive the Hannaford Healthy Shopper Patch. Not local to the Lunenburg Hannaford location? Check with your local store to see if they offer this program as well.

Operation Valentine, Virtual (Gr K-12)
Our Rett Angels love personal, funny and colorful cards. Volunteers will receive the names and addresses of their Valentine buddies who live throughout New England and will be asked to mail their card in time to be received for Valentine’s Day. Most of our angels are nonverbal and require round the clock care. Some do use communication systems to speak. Individuals with Rett are often very visual and enjoy the fun of receiving and, with assistance, opening their cards. Help make some smiles and deliver Valentine’s Day happiness. This non-profit is run by a former Girl Scout whose goal is to make science feel approachable, accessible, and less intimidating.

Our presentations can be tailored to your troop's interests and badge work. We're always eager to collaborate to make our presentations fit the unique needs of your troop. In addition, our Community Room space is available to reserve free for meetings and other events. The Sustainability Hub is designed to look like a sustainable home. The space includes energy efficient appliances, as well as energy efficiency displays.

Teen Life: Building Healthy Relationships, Virtual (Gr 6-12)

Learn the 10 signs of what unhealthy and healthy relationships look like with a member of The Office of District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.'s office. Learn how to resolve escalated conflict, practice consent, communicate boundaries, how to help a friend who is a survivor of an unhealthy relationship, and how to navigate a breakup. This program teaches you the importance of creating healthy relationships, as well as teaching tips to help you know if you or anyone you know is in an unhealthy relationship. This program will go toward the requirements of the Cadette Finding Your Ground Badge, the Senior Mission: Sisterhood Journey, and the Ambassador Your Voice, Your World Journey (not included).
