GSACPC Media Ambassadors
GSACPC Media Ambassadors bring our amazing brand to life throughout the membership year by showcasing their passion for Girl Scouting through on-camera appearances, creating video and written content, and attending public relations opportunities. They enrich our council with their positive energy, creativity, and professionalism. This program encourages and supports girls as they venture out of their comfort zones to grow as individuals while offering experiences and opportunities to learn about marketing and media career fields.
Media Ambassadors will have a selection of opportunities* to participate in, including:
• TV/radio appearances and interviews (Spanish media opportunities available)
• Print interviews
• Writing opportunities (articles/blogs)
• Social media content creation
• Creative workshops hosted by the Marketing and Communications Team
• Photography
• Exclusive GSACPC events
• Girl programs
• Tours of local media outlets
*Opportunities are shared on a case-by-case basis on Padlet and are given to girls on a first-come, first-serve basis.
An application for each girl must be submitted at the start of each membership year. The 2023-2024 Media Ambassador Application will be open Oct. 1 – Nov. 5.
Please note that applying does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Please contact the Marketing and Communications Team by emailing marcom@girlscoutsaz.org with any questions.
The training will review program guidelines and expectations, FAQs for parents, interview tips and tricks, and mock interviews for girls.
*Virtual training will be offered to Media Ambassadors in Northern Arizona and/or in Council’s extended areas.
Media Mentor role
Being a Media Mentor allows Girl Scouts to step into a leadership position and is the highest recognition in our program! This role is available to Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors with at least one year of experience as a Media Ambassador. Up to four Media Mentors will be selected each year and can serve for two years in that role. Girls will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Team to develop workshops and content, collaborate on ideas, and offer a girl perspective on GSACPC’s social media content. Additionally, Media Mentors will be recognized with a Media Mentor pin at the end of the program year.
Please read the roles and expectations for both Media Ambassadors and Media Mentors before selecting this option within the application.
