Renewal FAQ

How do the drawings work?

Incentive prize drawings will take place weekly on Wednesdays beginning April 19.  The last drawing will occur on Friday, July 7, to accommodate the July 4 holiday.  Members who renew will be entered in the drawing pool before the date of each drawing.  Different prizes will be offered each week.  Your chances to win are cumulative!  Renew early so you can take part in every drawing throughout the season.

Drawings will be conducted using a randomizer software program selecting from the list of eligible participants.  Some prizes are just for girl members or adult members.  

How do I get my prizes?

GCNWI staff will contact prize recipients by phone or email. Please make sure your contact information is up to date on myGS.com!  The staff will coordinate with you to arrange for delivery. 

Member recipients will have seven (7) days to confirm acceptance of their prize.  If a member is unable to accept a prize, they will be re-entered into the drawing pool.  They will not be able to choose a different prize.  

Once you have won and accepted your prize you will not be eligible for future drawings.

What are the terms and conditions?
MY24 Early Renewal Incentive Terms & Conditions
 

The GCNWI Early Renewal period for Membership Year 2024 (MY24) will run from April 10 – June 30, 2023.  Current members who renew their membership for MY24 during this time frame are eligible to receive a patch and be entered into weekly drawings for special incentives.  These drawings take place on Wednesdays beginning April 19.  The final drawing occurs on Friday, July 7, rather than Wednesday, July 5, to accommodate the July 4 Federal holiday.  Drawings will be conducted using a randomizer software program selecting from the list of eligible participants.  Recipients will be notified by telephone and/or email at the time of drawing to the contact information provided in myGS.com.  

Entry into drawings is cumulative; renewing members will be eligible to win special incentives during all drawings that take place after the date of their renewal.  The following exceptions apply:

  • Only adult renewing members are eligible for the Lifetime Membership, Luxury Gift Baskets, 20% off Shop coupon and the GS+ Loyalty program. 
  • Only Girl renewing members are eligible for $100 off Summer Camp 2024 or program event discounts. 
  • Once a renewing member has been selected in a drawing to receive a special incentive, they will be ineligible for subsequent drawings.

Patch

Every renewing member will receive the 2024 “Your Year of Fun” Spring Renewal fun patch.  Patches will be mailed to the member’s primary address by the end of September 2023.

GS+ Loyalty Program Memberships

The GS+ Loyalty Program offers unlimited free shipping on eligible orders of $10 or more items from GCNWI Retail Shops.  The GS+ Loyalty Programs runs from June 1, 2023 – March 31, 2024.  

  • At zero cost, service unit managers (SUMs) who reach 50% of their 2024 membership goal and renew their own membership by Tuesday, May 23, 2023 will receive FREE shipping on eligible online orders of $10 or more.
  • For $39, leaders or co-leaders who renew 50% of their troop for the 2024 membership year and renew their own membership by Tuesday, May 23, 2023 will receive FREE shipping on eligible online orders of $10 or more. Full retail value is $79.

$100 discount for Summer Camp 2024 (2 available)

Recipients of this special incentive will be sent a discount code via email.  This code is valid for $100 off any week of summer camp in 2024, at any GCNWI camp location.  The code can be entered online through the GCNWI summer camp registration platform during the registration period beginning February 1, 2024. 

4 Brookfield Zoo Attraction tickets (12 packs available)

Recipients can pick up their pack of 4 Attraction tickets on Sunday August 27 at the Brookfield Zoo Discovery Center, Membership Table at the Girl Scout Expo.  Tickets can be used for The Carousel, Motor Safari, Hamill Family Wild Encounters, Butterflies! or Dolphins in Action.  Zoo entry fees and parking are not included.  Admission to Attractions is subject to change based on weather, staffing or other unforeseen closures.

$250 Shopping Spree (1 available)

Recipient will receive a $250 gift card to use in-store at any of our 7 GCNWI Retail Shop locations.  Gift cards do not expire.  The Gift Card will be mailed via USPS by July 1, 2023 to the recipient’s address on file.  

GCNWI Build-A-Bear Party (1 available)

This incentive includes a party event with Build-a-Bear plush toys and accessories for 4 girls and 2 adults.  The party takes place at the GCNWI Build-A-Bear shop at the Vernon Hills location only.  Incentive must be redeemed by Sept 30, 2023.  To schedule, complete information on the GCNWI Shop webpage. To add girl participants, cost is $38 per girl. After your party is scheduled, GCNWI will send an invoice for any additional girl participants.

Gift Baskets (6 available)

Each gift basket features an assortment of exclusive GCNWI merchandise, gourmet treats, home décor, personal care items, and more. GCNWI staff will contact recipients via phone and/or email to arrange for delivery by August 1, 2023.

Lifetime Membership (1 available)

Current Lifetime members are excluded from eligibility.  GCNWI staff will contact recipient by July 15, 2023 to process the Lifetime membership registration.

WNDR Museum Ticket Package (5 available)

Winners receive a package of 4 tickets to the WNDR Museum, located at 1130 W. Monroe St., Chicago, Illinois.  Tickets do not expire, but may require reservations depending on venue capacity.  Contact the WNDR Museum via webform at https://wndrmuseum.com/contact/ with any additional questions.  GCNWI staff will notify recipients via email and/or telephone and mail tickets to the address on file within two weeks of award.

Girl Scout Photo Session (2 available)

Recipients will receive a professional-quality photo session for their troop with a GCNWI photographer. Photo sessions may last up to 90 minutes and will take place at the GCNWI property location of the recipient’s choice.  Photos may include both portrait and lifestyle images, and participants are highly encouraged to wear their Girl Scout uniforms or attire!  Recipients will receive high-resolution digital image files within two weeks shared through OneDrive.  All participants must provide a signed waiver consenting to having their photograph taken and image used by GCNWI for historical and promotional purposes.  If the participant is a minor, the waiver must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. Photo session will take place during September or October 2023.  GCNWI staff will contact to schedule.

$5 Discount Code off one Signature Event in 2023-2024 (including Camp CEO) (10 available)

Signature events include Camp CEO, Sneaker Ball, Hair Expo, College Knowledge tours, and other programs.  Please contact program@girlscoutsgcnwi.org to verify discount eligibility.  Members must register for event via GCNWI online program registration platform and enter promo code at checkout.  Promo codes will be emailed to girl recipients within two weeks of award.

Free Entry to a Program Event of member’s choice (7 available)

Signature events are not included.  Members must register for event via GCNWI online program registration platform and enter promo code at checkout.  Promo codes will be emailed to girl recipients within two weeks of award.

Free tickets to a Sports Game during 2023-2024 (2 available)

Recipients will receive a package of four (4) tickets to any Sports Game program including Girl Scouts Day with the Cubs TK and Girl Scouts Day with the White Sox (July 30, 2023).  GCNWI staff will contact to confirm event selection and mail tickets to recipient’s address within two weeks of award.

Renewal and Registration Help

How to Renew

The steps below will help you renew a Girl and/or Adult in your household:

  1. Go to https://www.girlscoutsgcnwi.org and click "MY Account".
  2. Enter your email and password to login to your Girl Scout account.
  3. Click “My Account”
    • Parent/Guardian click "My Household"
    • Leaders click on "My Troop(s)"
  4. Find the people you want to renew and checkmark all the boxes that apply for the adults you are renewing, Checkmark their membership, troop(s), and role that they would like to renew into. Checkmark all that apply. For adults, there will only be one $25 charge even if multiple positions are renewed. 
    • For the girls you are renewing, checkmark the membership and troop that she would like to renew into. Checkmark all that apply.
  5. Fill in the form fields and follow the prompts to complete the registration process for all members of your household.

Trouble Logging In?

Q: Why isn’t my username working?
A: Your username is typically your email address. If you have more than one email address, try each. You can also use the “Forgot Your Password?” link to send a reset email to your email address. If you’re still having trouble, contact your council’s Customer Care team.

Q: Why aren’t I getting the password reset emails?
A: The password reset emails come from gsusacustomercare@girlscouts.org, so please make sure it’s added to your safe senders list. If you requested the reset email before marking our email address as safe, check your spam folder. If you’re still not receiving the email, contact your council’s Customer Care team to verify that your username/email address is correct.

Q: How do I reset my password when I no longer have access to the email address associated with my account?
A: Your council’s Customer Care team can easily change your username/email address without requiring you to recreate your account.

Q: Why can’t I see my family when I log in?
A: There are a couple reasons this could happen:

  • Another adult family member may be listed as the preferred contact on the account. That person must log in to renew. Contact your council’s Customer Care team if you’d like to be listed as your household’s preferred contact.
  • You may have a second or duplicate account with a different email address. Try a different username. If that works, be sure to contact your council’s Customer Care team to merge the two accounts into one.

Q: Why can’t I see my troop(s) when I log in?
A: There are several reasons this could happen:

  • Troops are listed on a separate tab from your family. If you have more than one troop, look for the pull-down menu to change between them.
  • Check your member profile to make sure you’re listed as a volunteer in the troop.
  • Not all troop volunteers can access the troop tab. Check with your council to see which volunteer roles they allow to access the tab.
  • If your background check has expired, you may lose access until it is up-to-date.
