Volunteering
-
As a Girl Scout volunteer, your time and talents have the power to change girls’ lives. Whether you’re mentoring them through their Girl Scout experience, guiding them as they choose the way they will run their cookie business, or encouraging them as they raise their voices on issues they believe in, you’ll be their cheerleader, guide, and mentor as they develop essential life skills and confidence that will last a lifetime. And while you’re teaching them and setting them up for happy, successful lives, you’ll grow too. It’s a win-win!
Check out our website to learn more about ways to volunteer with Girl Scouts. Then purchase a membership and complete a background check.

Logging In
If you haven't logged in since December 2020, you will need to reset your password. To do so, select My GS from the menu on our website and choose "Forgot Password" in the pop-up window. If you are brand new to Girl Scouts or have not participated recently, create a My GS login by selecting My GS from the menu on our website and choosing "Don't have an account? Sign up now." in the pop-up window.
In either case, watch for an email within a few minutes with a link to either reset or create your password. Be sure to check your Spam/Junk folder (or the Promotions group in your Gmail Inbox) if you don't see it. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact our Help Desk at 800-284-4475 or helpdesk@nccoastalpines.org.Volunteer Toolkit (VTK)
The Volunteer Toolkit (VTK) is a digital resource that supports volunteers in delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and Juliettes (individually registered girls) in managing their own experience with their caregiver, ensuring every Girl Scout has the opportunity she deserves to build a lifetime of leadership, success, and adventure.
The caregiver view for troops, leaders and caregivers can now communicate easily about upcoming meetings, what girls will be doing/learning, attendance and any help needed for the troop meeting.
Accessible from desktop and mobile devices, you can leave the books behind and focus on unleashing the G.I.R.L. (Go-Getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ in every Girl Scout!
For Troop Co-Leaders with multi-level troops, the Volunteer Toolkit allows you to combine meetings for different grade levels on the same day. Click here for instructions once you’ve started your Year Plan with meeting dates assigned.
gsLearn
gsLearn is Girl Scouts’ official online and on-demand training forum and is a benefit for all adult Girl Scout members. It empowers members to complete training at their own pace, unless otherwise specified. In addition to essential volunteer training, gsLearn gives you access to hundreds of personal and professional development courses in the Content Library.
Select on demand sessions from your dashboard or the Content Library OR register for live sessions that are virtual or in person. (Here’s how to register for live sessions.) Then, track your trainings and certifications in the Achievement section.
To access gsLearn, sign in to your My GS account and select gsLearn from the menu on the left of the My Account page. Below are the required trainings for new volunteers. Tip: when searching in gsLearn, use only 1 or 2 keywords for the best results. If you don’t find these courses when you search the Home page, then search the Content Library to find them.

Troop Travel
-
Travel is one way that girls can learn to lead the way, whether it is through the neighborhood or around the world! Progressive opportunities allow girls to learn the skills they need to become competent travelers. Travel fun can be endless when girls lead!
Adult volunteers that would like to assist girls in planning travel opportunities, should begin by downloading the Explore More! Trip and Travel Guidebook. After reviewing the Guidebook, sign in to your My GS account, select gsLearn from the menu on the left of the My Account page, and search on the word travel in the Content Library. Start with the 367 Explore More! Trip and Travel Training course. For international travel, also take the 367 Going Global: Global Travel course.
Specialty travel troops, dedicated to providing girls with a travel experience, are also available for girls in grades 6-12. If you are interested in joining a travel troop in addition to or instead of a traditional troop, please contact our Customer Care team at helpdesk@nccoastalpines.org or 800-284-4475.
For more information and resources about travel opportunities, visit our website. GSUSA’s website includes information on troop and individual travel for both girls and adults.
