Travel Volunteer Opportunity

Are you interested in challenging and empowering girls through travel to cultivate their cultural competencies, help them learn a wide range of practical life skills, advance their sense of self, and ultimately build memories and friendships with other Girl Scouts?  Then we want you to be our next Travel Volunteer! Chaperones have a big impact on Girl Scouts travel experience, and ideal volunteers will have a passion for travel, previous travel experience, experience working with older girls, and the ability to work collaboratively with other chaperones and the Trip Leader.  This volunteer position requires volunteers to apply for each trip they would like to chaperone.  The term begins once they’re selected as a chaperone and concludes after the trip has occurred.  Chaperones will be required to complete trip specific training after their term begins, Should not have a daughter nor a member of their Girl Scout Troop attending the trip, and should be prepared to cover meals and other small portions of the trip to attend the trip. All travel volunteers will attend the trip free of charge with the exception that they should be prepared to cover meals, any excursions not included in the base cost of the trip, and the council deposit. Submit your application for either a domestic or international trip by Dec 1 two years before the trip is schedule to run.  Any questions please email travel@gscwm.org.
