Stay Connected as an Alum

As Girl Scout alums, you know just how transforming Girl Scouts can be. We’re the preeminent leadership development organization for girls—and with programs from coast to coast and around the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.

Girl Scout alums have made significant contributions across society—breaking ground and effecting change as leaders in government and in the boardroom, excelling in STEM and the arts, and so much more.

Here are a few ways you can stay connected to the largest leadership development organization for girls in world:

1. Follow the Girl Scout Network on LinkedIn.

As a Girl Scout, you’re a leader, a change-maker, and a risk-taker—and your achievements are worth recognizing. Whether you earned your Gold Award or mentored younger girls in your Service Unit; whether you were a Girl Board Member or helped plan Lead the Way, the lessons you learned in Girl Scouts have prepared you to practice a lifetime of leadership in your career. Your Girl Scout experience separates you from other candidates, so make sure to include your experiences on your resume!

For tips on how to create a standout LinkedIn profile that highlights your trailblazing Girl Scout experiences, check out our toolkit.

2. Register as a GSNorCal alum and join a local alum association.

Alum groups are a great way to make new friends, expand your network, and stay involved in Girl Scouts. In Northern California, we have three active Alum Association chapters: San Francisco Bay Area, North Coast, and South Bay. Whether you want to network with other young professionals, give back to local girls, or get outdoors after a long day at work or in class, your alum group can make it happen!

3. Create camp magic by working at Sugar Pine, Skylark Ranch, or Bothin next summer!

Every year, we welcome over 4,500 girls to camp—and we need 200+ seasonal staff to make it happen! We’re kicking off hiring for summer 2020 in September this year, and who better to help us create the next generation of courageous, confident, and go-getting girls than you? 4. Become a lifetime member.

As a lifetime member, you’ll join a network of more than 60 million women taking the lead to accomplish great things in their communities, from the boardroom to the classroom and beyond. Young Alums enjoy a special rate of $200 (regularly priced at $400) and can even use Product Program rewards cards as a credit towards this purchase!

Don’t forget to subscribe to GSUSA’s monthly alum newsletter that includes inspiring profiles of alums, career advice from women paying it forward, and information about upcoming local events.
