Facilities and Hours of Operation

Headquartered at the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center in San Antonio, facilities managed by Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas include two leadership centers and one camp property in the Texas Hill Country.

Tuesday-Thursday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
June Second Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

June: No Fourth Saturday

July: No Second or Fourth Saturday

August: Second Saturday on August 12;
no Fourth Saturday

Our office will be closed July 24-28
for inventory.

The Girl Scout Shop’s hours, including curbside pickup hours, are the same as  the Sally Cheever leadership center's. The shop also will be open Saturday, Aug. 12, for Tax-Free Weekend. Please see the shop webpage for details.

West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center

The West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center remains closed to the public.

Usage: Hosts troop meetings, Gamma Sigma Girls® and Gamma Sigma Pearls program, community events, contributes to the economic development of the west side of San Antonio.
Amenities: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and robotics lab; Apple MacBook Learning Lab; Girl Genius tutoring lab; gym; cafeteria; green space; playground.

Camp La Jita

Camp La Jita is our overnight camp on the beautiful Sabinal River near Utopia, Texas. In 1946, the John F. Camp family donated the land to create a special place for Girl Scouts to experience the outdoors. Designated a State Antiquities Landmark by the Texas Historical Commission, Camp La Jita rests on 236 acres of Texas Hill Country land, one hour and twenty minutes west of San Antonio.

This council-owned camp is used for resident camping during the summer and troop camping, council program events, and training sessions during the year. Swimming facilities are available.
