City of San Antonio - Career Exploration

How do we expect our girls to dream if they don’t know what they can dream about? The City of San Antonio exposes girls to various career possibilities and the working world they will one day enter. Currently, there is a profound gap between the knowledge and skills most youth learn in school and the knowledge and skills needed in 21st-century communities and workplaces. Through the Career Exploration patch initiative, girls will use technology, explore college classes and will be able to “connect the dots” between school and career paths in ways that keep them motivated to seek and obtain the skills they will need to become our future City leaders.

Thinking about the future and planning for what you want to be when you grow up? Learn about your local government and how professionals with different careers deliver quality services to residents every day.  Through the Career Exploration patch, girls will learn about the different careers that keep our City running and vibrant Participants will have the opportunity to explore their career interests in a hands-on environment as well as uncover unique skills and talents.
