Girl Scout Cookie Program 2022-23 FAQs

Updated: December 7, 2022

Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas has been notified by our baker, Little Brownie Bakers, that they are experiencing supply chain and workforce disruptions that will impact production and delivery of our shipped cookies during the upcoming cookie season.

GSSWT’s cookie season schedule has not changed. The Girl Scout Cookie Program kicks off Wednesday, December 14, and runs through Wednesday, March 1. Digital Cookie® platform orders begin Thursday, December 15.

As a result of the supply chain and workforce disruptions, however, the direct shipping option for all cookies on Digital Cookie® will only be available from Monday, February 27, through Wednesday, March 1. This includes the new, limited-edition cookie, Raspberry Rally, which will only be available for direct shipping during these dates. Raspberry Rally will not be sold anywhere else this season.

While this is unfortunate, girls will still sell and take orders in person and can receive cookie orders via Digital Cookie® to personally deliver cookies to their local customers and utilize Digital Cookie® for donation orders.

We understand the direct shipping option is a helpful tool. However, it is important to note that for the 2021-22 season, Digital Cookie® direct shipping sales accounted for only 5 percent of gross sales. Most sales are made outside of the direct shipping option.

Troop Cookie Managers and Community Cookie Managers can estimate the impact to their sales by reviewing last year’s totals in eBudde.

Other key information:

  • The amount of Raspberry Rally cases the council will receive will not change. We were always going to get a limited supply of Raspberry Rallyfor direct shipping only. The only change is the timeframe for direct shipping sales.
  • At this time, the February 27 launch date for shipped orders is not expected to change.
  • GSUSA is modifying the Digital Cookie® platform to inform customers that shipping is not currently available. On Monday, February 27, Digital Cookie® will update to include the shipping delivery option.

We are looking forward to the start of the 2023 cookie season as we are excited to see our Girl Scouts showcase their entrepreneurial skills.

Cookie sales are critical to funding Girl Scout programs, and we are working hard with our bakers to ensure a successful season for our girls.

Please note: We will have a Zoom meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, December 12, for everyone interested in asking questions and learning more about this cookie season. Registration is required.

Q: Digital Cookie® was supposed to open for council sales on December 14. Why has that date been delayed to December 15?

A: Due to LBB’s production challenges, shipped cookies will not be available at the start of cookie season. Because of this unforeseen challenge, the Digital Cookie® technology team needed time to program changes associated with turning off the shipped cookie feature for consumers.

Q: When will Raspberry Rally be available for purchase?

A: The new, limited-edition Raspberry Rally will be available for direct shipping via Digital Cookie® from Monday, February 27, through Wednesday, March 1. Raspberry Rally will not be sold anywhere else during any other time.

A: We were always going to get a limited supply of Raspberry Rallyboxes for direct shipping only, and that number has not changed.

Q: Could the February 27 launch date for shipped orders shift earlier or be delayed further?

A: The date should not shift earlier; councils have finalized decisions regarding shifting sale dates and all parties (councils, GSUSA, and LBB) must have a confirmed date to develop marketing, communications, and technology plans associated with this situation. At this time, LBB has collaborated on the February 27 launch date and has confirmed their intent and ability to meet this timeframe.

Q: How will customers know the shipping option is delayed until February 27?

Most sales are made outside of the direct shipping option.

Q: How do I estimate the impact of this change to my troop’s sales?

A: Troop Cookie Managers and Community Cookie Managers can estimate the impact to their sales by reviewing last year’s totals in eBudde.

Q: What does this mean for Girl Scout Cookie Flavor Fest?

A: Girl Scout Cookie Flavor Fest will continue as planned, running Friday, February 17, through Sunday, February 26. Girl Scouts who supply cookies to participating restaurants/vendors should choose the girl delivery option in Digital Cookie®. Raspberry Rally will not be available to be used during the event.
