Raleigh, N.C. / (June 21, 2022) - Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines announced today that it received a grant for $10,000 from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer US. This grant will be used to support a wide variety of STEM programming for Wake County Girl Scouts.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) interest begins early, and STEM is a core pillar of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Girl Scouts “fun with purpose” K-12 curriculum ensures that girls of every age have opportunities to participate in progressive, multi-year STEM experiences, becoming more confident in their math and science abilities, and more interested in STEM subjects and careers.
Laura Lee Davis, Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines Vice President of Girl Experience shared, “We’re thrilled to receive this grant funding to help support Girl Scout Daisies through Ambassadors as they explore STEM concepts through hands-on programming. Whether they’re creating a protype while learning about the engineering design process or examining patterns in nature as they explore math concepts, our Girl Scouts have the opportunity to grow their confidence and self-esteem – and perhaps even ignite their desire for a career in STEM!”
