Additional Awards

National Leadership Awards

Available for Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors.

 

Silver, Gold and Silver, Gold Torch

This award recognizes a girl who acts as a leader in her community. Learn more in the  Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting

 

Community Service bar

Community Service Bars are earned by making a difference in the community and practicing Girl Scout values. 

Learn more in the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting, and and use the Community Service Bar form to receive approval before beginning your service.

 

Service to Girl Scouting bar

Service to Girl Scouting bars are earned by volunteering at least 20 hours for the Girl Scouts. Learn more in the  Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting and use the Service to Girl Scouting Form to report your volunteer hours.

*Your service hours for the Community Service Bar and Service to Girl Scouting Bar should be separate from those you use toward other awards. Each bar represents a new project, and can only be earned once at each level.

Mentoring Awards

Available for Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors.

 
Leader in Action (Cadette)

You can earn this award by assisting a Brownie group on any of their Leadership Journeys. Learn more in the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting.

Program Aide (Cadette)

Earn this award by completing a council-designed leadership training and working directly with younger girls over six activity sessions. Learn more in the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting Click here to register for an upcoming Program Aide Training.

Counselor-in-Training I & II (Senior, Ambassador)

Mentor younger girls in a camp setting as you build skills toward becoming a camp counselor. Learn more about CIT at Camp Wasiu II in the Camp Guide or contact us at girlscoutshelp@gssn.org.

Volunteer-in-Training (Senior, Ambassador)

This award is for girls who would like to mentor a Girl Scout Daisy, Brownie, Junior, or Cadette group outside of the camp experience. To earn this award you must have completed ninth grade. Learn more in the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting Download the Self-Study Guide here and get started!

Special Opportunity Awards

Available for all levels.

Global Action

When you earn this award, you’ll learn more about how girls live around the world. You’ll also do an activity to help girls who need it. Find out more here!

World Thinking Day

Every year, girls think about a topic that connects them to their Girl Scout sisters. Find out how you can earn this award here!

Cookie Activity Pin

All girls who participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program are eligible to earn the annual Cookie Activity pin, which they earn by developing five essential business skills. Learn more in the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting.

International Friendship pin

Girl Scouts who live overseas can earn this award by doing activities that encourage international friendships with girls in their host country.

Meritorious Service Awards

Available for all levels.

Nominations for Meritorious Service Awards must be submitted within 30 days of the event. 

Medal of Honor

This award is given to a girl who has shown presence of mind and true Girl Scout spirit in an emergency. Contact us to nominate an awardee.

Bronze Cross

This award is given to a girl who has shown extraordinary heroism or risked her life to save another’s. Contact us to nominate an awardee.

My Promise, My Faith
