How We Serve

From earning badges to going on awesome trips and selling cookies, exploring science, getting outdoors and doing community service projects, girls lead their own adventures and team up with other girls in an all-girl environment. Together, they’ll take action to change the world, putting them on a path to a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.

TRADITIONAL TROOPS: 6,000 Girl Scouts and 3,545 adult volunteers
The majority of Girl Scouts in western Oklahoma will participate in a traditional troop, with dedicated adult volunteers serving as Troop Leaders. These girls have an incredibly rich experience: they earn badges, go outdoors, earn our highest awards and participate in community service and take action projects.

COMMUNITY PRGRAMS: 2,500 Girl Scouts in 100 community sites
About 25% of Girl Scouts participate through Community Programs, or staff-led troop opportunities for girls who may not otherwise participate in Girl Scouts. We focus on underserved, high poverty socioeconomic areas where girls can benefit the most from the skills and programs Girl scouts provides. Community Programs are in-school and after school activities, troops in public housing communities and troops in juvenile detention centers.

OUTDOOR EXPERIENCES: Camp E-Ko-Wah, March - July, nearly 750 campers and volunteers
Meaning “friendship” in Osage, Camp E-Ko-Wah is the perfect place for girls to connect with the outdoors, face their fears, try something new and make friends that last a lifetime. Located in Marlow, Oklahoma, adjacent to Lake Fuqua, Camp E-Ko-Wah teaches girls all about riding and taking care of horses, water sports safety, hiking and camp fires, high ropes courses and zip lining.

COMING SOON! CAMP TRIVERA: year-round, 5,000 Girl Scout campers and 13,000 total visitors in the first year
Camp Trivera is a state-of-the-art modern camp experience with a STEM education focus. Girls will learn camping basics in the comfort of the city. This urban camp, located east of the Oklahoma City Zoo & Botanical Gardens, is the perfect location for progression-based learning and will allow for robust community partnership opportunities. It will be available to Girl Scouts and the community, equally.
