Program Ideas and Adaptations for Multi-level Troops

Your girls, no matter their ages, are ready to take on new challenges and have fun together! Spark their sense of adventure with these badges, Journeys, and activities, adapted for both virtual or safe in-person meetings. We’ll be adding content throughout the year, so bookmark this page and check back often!  

Girl Scout Way Badges (+ Daisy Tula Petal)

Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors will learn about Girl Scout traditions.

What they’ll learn: 

When girls have earned this badge, they’ll know how to use Girl Scout ways and traditions to make the world a better place. This will take two meetings. 

Plan Your Meeting:

Democracy Badges (Daisy/Brownie/Junior)

Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors will find out how people in the government decide what rules are made and how they are followed. 

What they’ll learn: 

When girls have earned this badge, they’ll know the three branches of government—and some of the things they are responsible for. This will take two meetings. 

Plan Your Meeting:

Space Science Badges (Daisy/Brownie/Junior)

Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors will investigate the complexities of the Solar System as they learn to see things in a new way.

What they’ll learn: 

When girls have earned this badge, they’ll have explored and investigated and observed the Sun, Moon, and stars. This will take two meetings.

Cookie Business Badges

Girls will learn the skills they need to manage their cookie business.

PURPOSE: 

When girls have earned the Daisy Count It Up leaf, and Brownie Meet My Customers and Junior Cookie CEO badges, they’ll be on their way to managing their cookie sale like a boss!

PLAN YOUR MEETING​:

Think Like an Engineer Journey

Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors will find out how engineers solve problems and do a hands-on design challenge.

PURPOSE: 

When girls have earned this award, they’ll know how engineers use the Design Thinking Process to solve problems and have completed a hands-on design challenge activity. Girls will also have connected the steps of the Design Thinking Process to the steps of a Take Action project.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Find out how engineers use the Design Thinking Process to solve problems.
  2. Do 3 Design Thinking activities: design and build an assistive device, a water collection device, and a device that can launch a ball across a room.
  3. Plan a Take Action project that helps others. If you're a Girl Scout volunteer, go to Volunteer Toolkit for complete meeting plans and activity instructions.

Global Action Award

Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors find out what climate action means to them, their Girl Scout community, and the world.

PURPOSE:  

When girls have earned this badge, they’ll understand what climate change means and have completed a global action climate challenge.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Explore the Global Goals and Global Action Award
  2. Find out what climate change means
  3. Explore climate change issues
  4. Make a climate change 
  5. Create a global action climate challenge

World Thinking Day Award (Daisy/Brownie/Junior)

Every year, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides around the world celebrate February 22 as a day of international friendship called World Thinking Day. The 2021 theme for World Thinking Day is "Peacebuilding." To earn this award, girls will explore the theme's meaning and make a peace pledge to make a difference. 

PURPOSE: 

When girls have earned this award, they’ll understand what peacebuilding means and will have made a peace pledge for World Thinking Day. 

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Explore World Thinking Day
  2. Find out what peacebuilding means
  3. Explore peacebuilding in Girl Scouts
  4. Get inspired by peacebuilding
  5. Create a peace pledge

PLAN YOUR MEETING​

National Service Project

Girls choose a service project to put into action. 

PURPOSE: 

When girls have completed this activity, they will have given back to their community through a service project.

Think Like a Citizen Scientist Journey (Daisy/Brownie/Junior)

Girls learn how scientists use observation to understand the world as they collect and analyze data as part of a citizen science project.

PURPOSE: 

When girls have earned this award, they will have sharpened their observation and data collection skills through three citizen science activities. Girls will also have put their skills into practice through a Take Action project. 

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Find out how citizen scientists make observations, collect data, and work with scientists to receive feedback on research
  2. Do three citizen science activities: sharpen observation skills through two observation games and a SciStarter project
  3. Plan a Take Action project that helps others

Trail Adventure Badges (Daisy/Brownie/Junior)

Girls choose their own trail adventure.

PURPOSE: 

When girls have earned this badge, they’ll know how to go on an adventurous jog or play outdoor hiking games.

  2. Prepare for your adventure
