Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana is bringing together people willing to share their expertise with Girl Scouts who want to learn!
The Expert Connection is a resource that helps Girl Scout members locate specialists in a range of fields. These experts can share their knowledge skills, and experiences at troop meetings, leaders’ meetings, events, and more.

Our Expert Connection volunteers get to share their passion with people who want to learn, serve their communities, and help inspire tomorrow’s G.I.R.L.s (Go-getters, Innovators, Risk Takers, Leaders).
You can decide what works for you!
Choose your group size
Troops range in size from just a few, up to dozens of girls. Service unit or council-sponsored events can reach into hundreds of attendees.
Choose your age group
We are seeking people comfortable talking to girls, and adults of any age.
- Daisies: grades K-1, ages 5-6
- Brownies: grades 2-3, ages 7-8
- Juniors: grades 4-5, ages 9-10
- Cadettes: grades 6-8, ages 11-13
- Seniors: grades 9-10, ages 14-15
- Ambassadors: grades 11-12, ages 16-18
- Volunteers: adults of all ages
Choose your time
One-time engagements, multiple touch points, periodic sessions... it's up to you!
You guide us on how far you are willing to travel, how often you'd be available throughout the year, and how much time you can spend. Everything is flexible, and scheduled on an as-needed basis that is mutually beneficial to both parties.

One of the best ways for girls to learn about new ideas is to hear
it straight from someone who really knows their stuff. Many Girl Scout
badges, Journeys, and patch activities include a "talk to an
expert" component so they can explore their world in a safe,
smart, and reliable way.
