Additional Awards

In addition to patches, badges and Girl Scouts’ highest awards, girls can earn a variety of additional awards through Girl Scouts and community organizations.

National Gold Award Girl Scout | Ambassador

Every year, 10 Gold Award Girl Scouts are selected from among the nation’s Gold Award Girl Scouts to receive the honor of National Gold Award Girl Scout. 10 Year Pin  | Seniors and Ambassadors

Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines is proud to present the 10-Year Numeral Guard pin to Girl Scouts. If this year marks a Girl Scout's 10th year as a member, she is eligible to receive a pin. Membership does not have to be continuous. Receipt of the 10-Year Numeral Guard pin is a one-time award for girl members. 

Girl Scouts should self-identify and order their pins by completing this form in its entirety, allowing 4 weeks for the pin to arrive via USPS..

Faith-Based Awards | All Grade Levels

Every year, 10 Gold Award Girl Scouts are selected from among the nation’s Gold Girls can learn what their faith and Girl Scouting have in common through Girl Scouts’ faith-based awards including the My Promise, My Faith pin which complements existing religious recognitions and allows girls to further strengthen the connection between their faith and Girl Scouts. Girls of all grade levels can earn the My Promise, My Faith pin once each year by carefully examining the Girl Scout Law and tying it to the tenets of her faith. Requirements for this pin are included in the Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for all grade levels.

Community Service Bars | Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador

Community Service Bars are earned by practicing Girl Scout values and making a difference in the community. More information on this award can be found in the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting (Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador editions).

Service to Girl Scouting Bars | Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador

Service to Girl Scouting Bars are earned when girls volunteer at least 20 hours for the Girl Scouts. Girls might volunteer their time for a special event for younger girls, assist at their council office or service unit, or help with a special project.

Program Aide | Cadettes

This award is earned by completing the Leader in Award (LiA) badge and assisting younger girls by sharing your skills, passion, and experience over the course of six activity sessions. Learn more by visiting Older Girl Opportunities.

Counselor in Training  |  Seniors and Ambassadors

This award is earned by Girl Scouts experienced in camping as they combine their love for the outdoors with their leadership skills and goals.

This award is earned by Girl Scouts experienced in camping as they combine their love for the outdoors with their leadership skills and goals.

Torch Award  |  Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors

This award is given to Girl Scouts who demonstrate leadership in their community. To earn the Torch Award, a Girl Scout must complete one Leadership Journey, and serve a full term in a leadership position at her school, place of worship, library, community center, or other organization that is meaningful to her.

Cookie Activity Pin  |  All Grade Levels

All girls who participate in the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program are eligible to earn the Cookie Activity Pin, representing their participation in the program and their work toward developing the five essential business skills learned through the Girl Scout Cookie Program.

Medal of Honor  |  All Grade Levels

This award is given to a girl who has shown presence of mind and true Girl Scout spirit by saving a life or attempting to save a life without risk to the candidate’s own life. For more information contact Girl Scouts–North Carolina Customer Care Team.
