engaging and well paid. Imagine her teaming up with others to invent
the future.
That future can be a reality, thanks to science, technology,
engineering, and math (STEM).
Research shows that girls are keenly interested in STEM and excel at
it. Yet, for a variety of reasons, girls often don’t pursue
STEM—starting as early as elementary school.
But we can change that! Let your girl see that STEM can help her
make the world a better place! Girl Scouts who participate in
girl-focused STEM programs:
- Become better problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and
inspirational leaders
- Get better grades, earn scholarships,
and follow more lucrative career paths
- See STEM as the
foundation for a meaningful and successful future
Perhaps she’d like to…build a robot, create an app, invent a medical

Girl Scouts, troop leaders and STEM professionals interested in
working with Girl Scouts can attend or help facilitate TechnoQuest!
TechnoQuest is an annual event held in the fall where Girl Scouts can
participate in hands-on STEM activities, meet women STEM
professionals, and meet other Girl Scouts interested in STEM! Troop
leaders can attend and receive trainings, learn to facilitate
Journeys, badges, and outdoor adventures. And of course, we
couldn’t do it without our facilitators!

Open to Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors and
adults
TechnoQuest 2022 held at NC State Centennial Campus on Saturday,
November 5th was a great success! Over 200 Girl Scouts attended this
one-day event where they interacted with and learned from leaders in
STEM. Thanks to the generous support of Duke Energy and numerous
partner organizations, Girl Scouts had the opportunity to participate
in mentoring sessions that included a Min2Win Challenge coached by
female STEM leaders, small group speed mentoring, or fielding
education and career questions to a diverse STEM panel. Girls then
moved on to conquer three hands-on workshops in everything from
mechanical engineering and construction to alternative energy and
cybersecurity! Adult participants earned their First Aid/CPR/AED
certification or attended a workshop track that covered Highest Awards
in Girl Scouting, camping info, trail adventurers, and STEM resources
in the community.
