Bus Transportation

All program fees include bus transportation to/from these towns: Burlington, Lawrence, Lynnfield, Malden, Medford, Melrose, North Reading, Saugus, Stoneham, Tewksbury, Wakefield, Wilmington, and Woburn. Check bus stop locations and times on the bus schedule.

Typical Day

Camp begins with the opening flag ceremony, followed by exciting activities with your unit. Camp offers a swimming pool, outdoor programming areas, and a large program building for daily activities. Campers bring lunches and then go into their afternoon programs. The day ends with a closing flag ceremony and fun end-of-day events.

About the Directors

Co-directors Renée Doucette and Amanda Michienzi have 55 years of camp experience at Camp Rice Moody between them! Renée is beginning her 29th summer and Amanda her 28th summer. They both started at Camp Rice Moody as camp counselors and have worked up the ranks. Both Renée and Amanda are certified elementary teachers with experience in grades 2, 4, 5, and 6.

This is Renée’s 23rd season directing Camp Rice Moody. Renée has been a Girl Scout for 31 years. Renée possesses her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Salem State College.   

This is Amanda’s 19th season directing Camp Rice Moody. Amanda has been a Girl Scout for 36 years and earned both the Silver and Gold Award. She also attended Camp Rice Moody as a camper. Amanda possesses her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Framingham State College, Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Salem State College. 

Health and Safety

Camp Rice Moody is an American Camp Association-accredited camp. This means that every five years, a nationally recognized organization ensures that everything we do (from the meals we serve to the programs we plan) is done in a safe way. By selecting an ACA-accredited camp, you can be assured your camper is safe.

Camp Rice Moody must comply with the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (105 CMR 430.000) and is licensed by the town of Reading, MA.

Directions

Take I-93 to Route 129 (exit 31 Lowell Street towards Reading). At the end of the exit ramp, turn left toward Reading onto Lowell Street. At the first light take a sharp left onto Grove Street. Take the third street on the right, Forest Street and follow to the second street on right (29 Rice Rd) Follow Rice Road to camp.
