Volunteer Spotlight Program Girl Scouts of Western Washington

Spotlight Program

Grow your leadership and prepare your Girl Scouts to shine. Volunteers shine bright with Spotlight!

Explore new resources designed especially for experienced leaders.

  • The Spotlight Program defines what high-quality programming looks like at Girl Scouts of Western Washington to help leaders improve what they do and how they do it.
  • Included in this program is a virtual Self-Reflection Tool that generates customized suggestions of short, practical Spotlight Modules in gsLearn.
  • You can explore and grow independently, in collaboration with a growth buddy, or in the company of a Spotlight Coach!

Self-Reflection Tool

Start your Spotlight journey with our online Self-Reflection Tool to discover how Girl Scouts of Western Washington defines high-quality programming.

  • The Self-Reflection Tool includes questions on all four areas of program quality: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Girl-Led, Learning by Doing, and Cooperative Learning.
  • Reflection questions are framed as statements such as "I actively involved Girl Scouts in the planning process" or "Every Girl Scout can fully participate in all activities and events we choose to do together".
  • You rate your use of each practice on a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 is "I don't really do this" and 5 is "I do this very well".

Spotlight Modules

Each of the 28 Spotlight Modules on gsLearn is short and practical, only minutes in length, and highlights Spotlight Strategies you can apply during a program with Girl Scouts.

Every question on the Self-Reflection Tool corresponds to a Spotlight Module topic. Your Self-Reflection Tool results generate a keycode that converts to module suggestions matching your areas for growth.
