Troop Banking & Money-Earning

Money Earning & Troop Banking

From funding a once-in-lifetime troop trip to demonstrating valuable money management skills in the Girl Scout Cookie Program—our volunteers are the real-life role models for our Girl Scouts when it comes to establishing savvy money smarts!

Money earned is for Girl Scout activities and is not to be retained by individuals.

As a volunteer, here’s what you need to know about Girl Scout money-earning and troop banking.

Girl Scout Money Earning
If you’re planning to earn money as part of a Girl Scout activity or project, you need to submit your money-earning activity for approval four weeks before it takes place.

Getting Started with Troop Banking:

1 ) Open a New Bank Account - All Banks
All troops and groups managing Girl Scout funds must have a bank account through Girl Scouts of Western Washington. Learn how to open a Troop/Group bank account.

2) Make Changes to an Existing Account - All Banks
Has there been a change in leadership? Here’s how to make changes to your account.

3) Financial Reports
Each year, volunteers are required to submit an Annual Troop Finance report by June 30.
