New Troop=New Rewards

We want to celebrate leaders of new troops this year as we get back to in-person Girl Scouting! All volunteers who start a brand-new troop before December 31 (if you’ve already done so, this includes you!) and complete all their training and registration tasks will receive a fun patch and a $10 coupon to spend at the Girl Scout shop!

Space Science Badges for Younger Girls

Whoever we are, wherever we’re from, each of us has our own associations with the Moon, Sun, and stars. Space Science badges tap into girls’ inherent curiosity, engage their sense of wonder, and offer opportunities to practice science skills along the way. Check out these tips and resources from NASA staff member Caela Barry on exploring Space Science with your younger Girl Scouts.

Your first meeting of the year is around the corner. You have started a troop during the pandemic and will finally start meeting in person. You have incoming Seniors and you are curious to hear what other Troops have been doing to successfully engage High Schoolers. You need a boost, and this is your space to connect, ask questions and get inspired! Bring your dinner or dessert and join us for a low-key, high productivity troop planning meetup hosted on gsCommunity. Please join the  gsCommunity to sign up and attend the event. We are also looking for level experts to share their experience! Please write to Priti (psingh@gsnorcal.org).

Does your employer offer “Dollars for Doers"? Many companies encourage their employees to volunteer in the communities where they live and work—in turn, the employer will offer matching dollars for the hours. Inquire with your Human Resources department about your program, or check out this  list of companies that offer this kind of financial support!

Your gift of any amount to the Opportunity Fund provides financial resources for girls who live in low-income communities and/or communities recovering from local disasters (like loss of jobs due to COVID-19) to have equitable access to the sisterhood, supportive adults, and special experiences that foster belonging and connection. Give the Girl Scout Opportunity today!
