Becoming Me Program Series and Resources

The Becoming Me program series is a new and exciting opportunity for girls across the council, and we want to share with you how to participate!

Join us on June 9 for a volunteer learning session on how to host Becoming Me. We will share all of our facilitator guides, supplemental Michelle Obama content, and lots of ideas for activities. This session will support volunteers who would like to lead a series for any age level (Daisy through Ambassador), and we will even include advice on how to plan the event for mixed-level troops! Register before June 8 to attend.

Interested in volunteering with the Becoming Me & More Program Council-Run series? We’re looking for adult volunteers and older Girl Scouts (grades 9–12) interested in working with youth! You’ll shadow a GSNorCal council member and facilitate group activities with our Girl Scout participants.

The programs will take place between June 21 and July 30; a GSNorCal staff member will connect with you beforehand to confirm the dates of your participation and help prepare you to be an amazing Becoming Me volunteer! Fill out the survey below by June 8 to participate.

Psst... There’s a free downloadable badge booklet download and Michelle Obama journal available in the online GS Shop!

This special Girl Scout tradition helps troops and service units take time to celebrate and recognize our girls’ accomplishments! We have bridging events for daisies, brownies, multi-level troops, and incoming cadettes and seniors to celebrate virtually together. Bridging kits are available for purchase in our online store, and we have lots of amazing resources for you to make this time of year special for your girls.

At-Home Bridging Resources

Although we aren’t yet back to fully in-person Girl Scouting, that doesn’t mean bridging ceremonies should fall by the wayside! Bridging is one of the most important parts of the Girl Scout experience, and is proven to keep girls coming back to learn, grow, and shine! Learn how to host a virtual event with these at-home bridging ideas.

Volunteer Support Opportunities

Register for the Volunteer Summer Meet-up. Join fellow Girl Scout volunteers across the entire Northern California Council for an evening of meaningful conversation and connection around 'becoming' your best self on Wednesday, June 16, from 7–8 PM. Let's share and celebrate our individual and shared journeys. Join gsVolunteers and to sign up for the event.

Does your employer offer “Dollars for Doers"?  Many companies encourage their employees to volunteer in the communities where they live and work—in turn, the employer will offer matching dollars for the hours. Inquire with your Human Resources department about your program, or check out this  list of companies  that offer this kind of financial support!
