Refreshing Resources for
Your Girl Scout Spring
Whether you’re using our new system to update your background check, exploring the new resources in the Troop Leader Blueprint, or going above and beyond to level up your impact as a volunteer, we’ve got this covered:
Troop Leader Blueprint Updates
Keep your troop going strong new updates to badges, Journeys, and
grade-level specific activities for virtual and safe in-person
meetings, as well as current COVID-19 guidelines and resources. We’re
here to support you as you help your troop thrive.
Background Check Reminder
Even though we’re not meeting in-person, background checks are still required for all volunteers and are important in helping us maintain girl safety! If your background check expires during the troop year, you need to renew it right away to continue to do your amazing volunteer work! If relevant, you should receive an email with instructions on how to complete your background check. Please complete the application within 72 hours of receiving the email. The background check fee is $11.75 (varies by DMV) and financial aid is available to cover adult background checks.
How to Level Up Your Personal Girl Scout Impact
Girl Scout volunteers are vital to the growth of courageous, confident girls who can make the world a better place. Now more than ever, the support of volunteers like you and our entire Girl Scout community is needed to provide girls with essential Girl Scout experiences. From joining a local Girl Scout Giving Circle to encouraging philanthropy at work, here are a few ways that you can deepen your impact for girls.
Volunteer Spotlight
Congratulations to Cheryl and Derek Kingham for
receiving the Northcoast Kiwanis Champions for Children Award, given
for “dedication for improving the lives of children.” The original
award ceremony was postponed due to COVID-19, but a member of the
Northcoast Kiwanis was able to deliver the award in person this past
month. We love seeing our volunteers’ hard work and incredible
contributions recognized.

Does your employer offer “Dollars for Doers"? Many
companies encourage their employees to volunteer in the communities
where they live and work—in turn, the employer will offer matching
dollars for the hours. Inquire with your Human Resources department
about your program, or check out this list of companies that offer this kind of
financial support!
